Safety and Usage
SAFETY AND USAGE
Our products are curated with safety in mind. Age recommendations have been given within the item description. It is for the adults, caregivers and educational providers to risk assess resources and activities based upon the individual needs of the children who will use them. All play should be supervised by a responsible adult.
Our resources are made with Epoxy Resin, that is non-toxic, fume free and VOC free. They are UKCA tested and suitable for ages three years and above, due to choking hazards and small parts.
These resources are not suitable for children who are still mouthing or vulnerable adults. They should not be put into mouths, licked or sucked.
In the case of 'food play' and 'kitchen play' items, I work hard to comply with the British Retail Consortium food imitation guidelines to avoid hazards at all costs. Although some products may look somewhat realistic, they are curated carefully for size beyond that of a choking hazard. Each item is tested using a 'small parts container'. Their texture, weight and odour are unrealistic. The size, form, odour, colour appearance, packaging is unlikely to cause harm to children if they were to accidentally place them in their mouths. Please ensure you are guiding and supervising your children at all times.
Some loose part play sets, by their very nature are functional everyday household items, and as such will not all have a UKCA mark. The Toy Safety Directive lists an exclusion from the UKCA marking requirements for “products intended for use for educational purposes in schools and other pedagogical contexts under the surveillance of an adult instructor.” These products are not considered to be toys within the meaning of the Toy Safety Directive.
Caring for your resources
Resin is very durable however, it is possible that it can break if played with forcefully. This can cause a danger hazard and the item may become sharp. Please discard your item if this happens and contact us if necessary.
Our resin resources are suitable for use indoors, outdoors, in water play, potion play, in the sand and messy play.
Do not leave your resin resources submerged in water for prolonged periods or in warm water, direct heat or sunlight. Leaving your resin resources exposed to heat, sun or warmth may cause the resin to warp and the colours to fade. Although this is usually temporary, once the resin cools down it often retains its original shape, however it can possibly ruin.
If you have any questions regarding the above, please do not hesitate to contact me.
