Maths Part Part Whole Reasoning

The ‘Part-Part-Whole’ machine is used to encourage reasoning within maths. It is used to develop deep understanding of the ‘whole’ number and how it can be split into two parts/amounts. This also solidifies children’s understanding of the relationship between the numbers securing their knowledge of number fact families eg. 7+3=10, 10-7=3 10-3=7 and 3+7=10.
